China Lake, Barstow, and Las Vegas

Most of today was spent in the car. The morning was spent on an excitingly scenic highway (CA 178) eastward out of Bakersfield. A short stay in China Lake touring the Museum and we were back on the highway (US 395 this time) heading toward Las Vegas

Sequoia National Park

Started out in Visalia and drove up Highway 198 to the Ash Mountain entrace to the park. Drove up the Generals Highway through the park, stopping occasionally to take pictures of the mountains, river, and vegetation. Sunday in the Mojave

Today Steven and I set out from Lancaster and drove north on California 14 to the town of Mojave. From Mojave, we took the 20 Mule Team Road northeastward to US 395 and then north to the mining areas of Red Mountain, Johannesburg, and Randsburg.
